Lisa has been running for almost 20 years participating in races all over the country from 5k's to Marathon's. She has run over a dozen marathons with the goal to run a marathon in every state! She’s completed Boston twice, ran NYC Marathon, Goofy's Challenge and placed 3rd Female Overall at the New Mexico Marathon. Along with running Lisa also competes in triathlons and has completed 5 Ironman races and multiple Half Ironman, Olympic and Sprint Distance races.
Not born a runner. Lisa actually grew up a gymnast and didn't begin to even think about running longer than 2 minutes until she went to college and that was only because she had to run 1.5 miles in order to tryout for cheerleading. However, once she started to run she couldn't stop and found she not only ran for her health and stress relief, but now also enjoys traveling to new destinations for races, meeting new people, and best of all helping people become better runners or reach goals they set!
Educational and Professional Development:
Lisa has a Bachelor's in Exercise Physiology with a Master's in Exercise and Wellness. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach through NSCA with a passion for working with athletes, especially runners and triathletes. As a USATF member, she has coached running groups of all ages and abilities looking to participate in 5K’s, half marathons, full marathons and even fun mud runs.
Lisa has also worked with “Girls on the Run” and “The American Cancer Society” as a volunteer coach. In her free time she is a private coach/trainer that works with individuals interested in starting to run, improve their times, or run a distance they have never run before.
Lisa and TheGoSite:
Lisa is excited to be a part of the TheGoSite.com because as person who has a passion for running, but not computers she often gets frustrated looking for helpful tips, nutrition advice, gear reviews, local running groups, and races not only locally, but especially across the country.
Her goal as the Site Manager of the Running and Walking Site is to help make the search for races, groups, other runners, and advice as easy as possible so you can be on your computer less and on the road (or trail) more!
