Skill Level Descriptions
An individual brand new to the sport of cycling, generally these persons have never participated in an organized cycling event in the past. Someone who rides a few times a month and is generally not concerned with speed or time. Most beginner cyclists are still getting comfortable with their bike handling skills and generally are not yet comfortable riding in a group environment initially.
A cyclist who is generally riding consistently, generally several times a month and is participating in organized group rides and charitable rides several times a year. Depending on the time of year, they may be riding 75 miles or more a week. Intermediate cyclists are generally competent bike handlers and riding in a group environment is no problem for them.
A cyclist that is riding consistently three or more times a week for generally more than 120 miles a week. They may or may not be participating in organized races but will generally be active with a local training club.
